Airbnb property management Coventry hosts can trust

Although Coventry isn’t a traditional UK tourist destination, the city boasts some fantastic attractions and a thriving cultural scene, including nightlife and many award-winning restaurants. It is also close to the picturesque Warwickshire countryside, for those who want to see some greenery during a city trip.

Coventry’s proximity to London – it is just one hour away by train – makes it a prime location for corporate travel. The city is also only 20 minutes by rail from another main business centre, Birmingham. It’s likely that hosts will see guest demand from those with engagements in the capital, although Coventry has its own business centre, being home to some of the biggest names in the automotive, energy and financial services sectors. Tata, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce and Barclay’s are just some of the employers in the area.

Coventry was the UK’s City of Culture 2021/2022, owing to its excellent culture and events year round. There is always lots to do; there’s world famous theatre, heritage sites including mediaeval abbeys and castles, alongside award-winning museums and galleries.

Historic sites

Coventry has a rich history, having been a mediaeval centre of wealth. Its Cathedral is celebrated as the UK’s favourite 20th century building, and is known globally as a beautiful, unique venue. St Mary’s Guildhall, built in the early 1340s, has a fascinating 700 year history featuring power, propaganda and parties. The Priory Visitor Centre is a remarkable Grade II listed building. The ruins of Coventry’s first cathedral, originally founded by Earl Leofric and Lady Godiva, were uncovered in excavation work. The incredible finds from that project are now available for the public, and include relics from nearly 1000 years of history. Historic Spon Street is another gem: wonderfully preserved timber-framed Tudor properties line the street, which has 31 listed buildings.

Museums

Coventry Transport Museum is located in the city centre. The huge museum features the world’s largest collection of British road transport, and traces the city’s history as the centre of the world’s motor industry. For music lovers, the multi award-winning The Coventry Music Museum is a must-visit, with exhibits on John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s visit to the city, alongside the actual car from The Specials’ ‘Ghost Town’ video! The Midland Air Museum displays a unique aeronautical collection, including World War II aircraft.

Theatres

Warwick Arts Centre is one of the UK’s largest multi-artform venues. Performing and visual arts, concerts, films, festivals and other events are held at the centre throughout the year. The Centre was opened in 1974, and is located in the University of Warwick campus. Since then, it has been a significant force in both UK and international arts networks. The Belgrade Theatre is another stunning venue, offering a wide range of engaging shows, including festive pantomimes.

There are a number of activities for families and adults in the city. Coventry Rugby Club, located just outside of Spon end, holds a variety of events all year round. The club was established in 1874, and play in the RFU Championship league.
