Areas In London
Paddington
Paddington is in West London, between Notting Hill and the West End. It’s filled with pretty parks, gardens, squares and cafes, as well as the Grand Union Canal and the Grade 1 listed Paddington Station. The area is famous for St Mary’s Hospital, where Sir Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin, for which he was awarded a Nobel Prize. Paddington Station is also the terminus for the Heathrow Express train to London Heathrow Airport. Given its location, Paddington is a great area for an airbnb listing, whether for the short let market or even a medium term let.
Marylebone
Marylebone is in Central London, located in the City of Westminster, which has several period conversions and mews, and a large French contingent. It’s known as a diverse, cosmopolitan area and is home to the famous Oxford Street shopping district, Madame Tussauds and St James’s Roman Catholic Church. The neighbourhood is within a few minutes’ walk of several London Underground Stations, making it a prime location for the short letting market. Marylebone is also a residential neighbourhood, with over 500 properties, ranging from flats to Georgian townhouses, meaning it may be suited for airbnb management in the medium let market.
Shoreditch
Shoreditch is a famously trendy, arty area next to the equally fashionable Hoxton. Shoreditch is home to many young creatives and trendsetters, and is filled with trendy bars, clubs, restaurants and independent and vintage shops. Shoreditch is famous for its nightlife, including famous nightclubs Cargo and XOYO. Close to Liverpool Street Station, Shoreditch also has great transport links.
Chelsea
Chelsea is a famously affluent area in west London, known for high end boutiques and restaurants on the bustling King’s Road. For designer jewellery and clothing, head to Sloane Street, where you’ll find Cartier, Prada, Hermes and many more. Chelsea is also home to the National Army Museum, tracing British army from the 1600s onwards, and the Saatchi Gallery. There is also, of course, Chelsea Football Club, and the Chelsea Flower Show. If antiques are your thing, then head over to Lots Road, where you’ll find a wide range of high end antiques dealers and auction houses. Some of London’s best restaurants find themselves in Chelsea: there’s Gordon Ramsay’s three Michelin star restaurant, up-market oriental Kurobuta and Rabbit, among many others.
Canary Wharf
Canary Wharf is the famous leading financial centre of London, employing over 150,000 people, as well as a tourist destination. Built around the disused West India Docks, Canary Wharf houses ten skyscrapers measuring over 160 metres each. With stunning modern architecture, world class shopping and restaurants, impressive public spaces and travel links, Canary Wharf is a prime location for a rental accommodation in your property portfolio.
