Located not far south of Birmingham, Worcester is one of England’s oldest cities, and holds a unique place in English history. While today it may be quieter than its larger neighbour to the north, there’s still plenty of reasons to visit Worcester today – whether you’re drawn there on business or for pleasure. The midlands engine investment fund may also attract private investors, property investors or an investment manager. There are also successful software companies which are drawn to the area.
Read moreWorcester boasts the same peak tourist season as the rest of the UK, running roughly from April to October – but as you’ll see below, thanks to some of the business and educational motivations behind travel to Worcester – as with London and Birmingham, once again there is year-round demand for short term lets here – and with it comes year round demand for support from the property management sector, and services such as the SevenStays property management platform.
Though it may not seem like it at first, Worcester is something of a hub for corporate and business travel. People will come in from all over the world on a short-term basis to visit or attend the university, so there is a student market here. Modern scholars often turn to short term lets rather than letting agents these days to either find a suitable house share with likeminded people if they are attending classes, or something more akin to a holiday home if they’re only visiting on business.
Worcester has a successful software industry, home to at least two successful software companies. As such, there are likely to be coho offers and opportunities for house sharing, as people move to the area for work. The HMO market is large, as there’s a growing trend for co living offers. There are lettings agents managing thousands of properties.
Speaking of business though, don’t forget that there are a number of large and famous companies based in Worcester – including Lea & Perrin’s, Worcester Bosch Group, Carmichael, and more. All of these companies will have their own sales and marketing activity going on, but then in addition to executives visiting a Worcester based company this there’s also the possibility of business travellers to Birmingham using Worcester as a bedroom community, since it is a manageable commute.
What’s more, because of this Worcester is ideally placed to allow for ‘hybrid working’ (a situation that sees someone work from home or another location that’s local to them but far from their employer’s headquarters, and only travelling in to that HQ when necessary), there’s even more of a domestic market for corporate travel to London too. Wherever they may be coming from though, with the help of SevenStays – the new property management platform in Worcester – you can make sure that your corporate guests are well looked after.
It should also be highlighted that corporate travel is good for hosts too. Because we provide Airbnb management Worcester hosts rely on, we see all kinds of properties booked and lived in by all kinds of guests – and we can tell you that corporate guests are amongst the very best many landlords can get. They pay in advance, stay longer, stay / re-book more regularly and are generally tidier than other guests too.
As providers of Airbnb management Worcester can depend on, we know that the following tourist attractions generate large numbers of visits to the city every year – though they are by no means the only ones!
Royal Three Counties Show
Each year in June the Three Counties showground plays host to the Royal Three Counties Show – a celebration of the great British countryside and all the trappings associated with it. From animal shows for everything from sheep and cows to horses and dogs (and plenty of others too), craft sales, flea markets, exhibitions of outdoorsmanship and other similar pursuits, and a wide variety of food and drink to be experienced here – as well as other shows held at the showgrounds throughout the year – it’s no wonder this is one of the biggest opportunities for Airbnb hosts in Worcester too.
Worcester Reenactors / Living History Show
The Worcester Reenactors host regular living history demonstrations and battle re-enactments held at Spetchley Park, just outside Worcester. As such the city serves as a great base of operations for those attending, either as re-enactors or spectators – and once again, your short let property can provide them with a great place to stay!
Elgar Festival
Worcester’s most famous son is composer Edward Elgar, and each year the city celebrates his life and works through the annual Elgar Festival. A must-see for classical music fans, and fans of British culture alike!

Worcester Cathedral
Worcester has had a cathedral since around the year 660, with the present cathedral church being constructed between 1084 and 1504. Boasting a variety of architectural styles, and relics, and serving as the final resting place of famous figures from throughout history, there are a large number of reasons to visit this amazing building, and when tourists do so, you and your short-let property can put a roof over their head.
The Commandery
On September 3, 1651 the English Civil War came to Worcester, as Oliver Cromwell’s New Model Army took on a force of Royalists which included the future King Charles II. The royalist command post for the battle still stands today as the commandery – a living history museum looking at the battle, life as a soldier of the day and more. With Worcester’s keen re-enactment scene in mind, the presence of the commandery and the re-enactors often seen there is another in a long line of opportunities for short let hosts in Worcester.
Reindeer Court
It may seem odd to round things off with a shopping centre – until you realise that Reindeer court in Worcester is no modern mall – it is in fact a grade-II listed building, and one of the UK’s most unique places to shop. Add in its listed status and it becomes a real asset that only adds to Worcester’s rich architectural history – so whether it’s for a bit of retail therapy or just to take in the amazing building itself, people from all walks of life come to see Reindeer court for themselves
